The result of a historic collaboration between the United Kingdom and the France, Concorde entered commercial operation in 1976 and immediately became the ultimate symbol of technological advancement applied to civil aviation.
The four engines Rolls-Royce Snecma Olympus 593, one of the most sophisticated feats of jet propulsion ever developed, pushed the aircraft to 60,000 feet, where the curvature of the Earth was already visible through the narrow windows and the external temperature reached -60°C while the hull heated to more than 120°C through air friction.
